Last November, 2024, I had the pleasure of interviewing the organizers of the Trauma24 conference that was held in Johannesburg South Africa in October of 2024. They were a lively bunch that had great fun discussing how they pulled off what Swedish neurofeedback provider and educator Anna Halberg called, ‘the conference of the century’.

It was not until I began to edit our conversation for the one year anniversary of the conference, that I recognized the true nature of this recorded conversation. With the help of our amazing ANF web designer Ilana, this archived conversation has been edited to bring you the best of their reflections on the seminal teachings and embodied wisdom offered at Trauma24.

With Sebern Fisher, MA, BCN, and Drs Frank Corrigan and Ruth Lanius, T24 wove together a profound narrative of cutting edge trauma research and treatment. The teachings on the brain based interventions of neurofeedback and Deep Brain Reorienting were presented within a deep and fundamental understanding of the primary nature of human attachment and connection.

A carousel of pictures of the presenters and organizers, along with in-person and online attendees bring you into the room for this powerful and intimate conversation. In the pictures you’ll see Dr Frank Corrigan presenting DBR theory and practice, and Sebern Fisher weaving together attachment based treatment theory and practice throughout the deep discourse of the conference. Unfortunately we have no pictures of Dr Ruth Lanius’ online presentation, but her seminal work is reflected in the highlights offered by the T24 organizers.

In the carousel you’ll also see pictures of the vibrant conference MC, Carolina Vilalva in her white blazer. And T24 organizer and resident elephant whisperer, Helena Bester, teaching us to quiet our minds while attuning to an elephant from nearby Kruger Park where she volunteers.
